Looking for who to trust?
Now lets think for a moment about the father of our faith, Abraham. When God told him to sacrifice his beloved son, Isaac. Remember when Isaac asked him where the lamb for the sacrifice was, what did he say? He said God will provide. How do you think Issac felt after he was bundled by his father and ready to be slaughtered if not that he was stopped by God... Please try and imagine.
Seriously if it was me, even if I don't hold grudges against my father after I understand the whole near death experience was a test from God. But I bet it, next time my father ask me to follow him to any sacrifice, I will want to make sure I see the lamb or simply give a silly excuse not to go... LOL.
I can boldly beat my chest and tell you my daddy loved me. But when he went through depression, I remember I got a text message from him on a Sunday morning that read "I love you, but God love you more". That day he committed suicide... What shall I say he still remember to tell his children he loved them before he took his life.
Stay with me I'm going somewhere with the post.
You see, I'm aware of the different kinds of love that we have, Eros, Agape, Phileo and Storge. But seriously even though I have the greater love, which is Agape in me. I'm thinking, "OK I'm human, I may still disappoint you".
You see, many marriages and relationship died because the partners were having a high expectation of love or affection than they can get.
Wait a minute God said something in Isaiah 49:15 "Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee."
Yes, this means if the mother that carried you for nine months in her womb can still not be totally trusted, then how much more others? I'm sorry but that is the reality.
Anyway this post is not to say you should go about feeling like no one loves you. But rather that you should place your love and trust only on God (first commandment). With that you are secure. You won't end up in psychiatric ward because someone jilted or broke your trust.
