The things that shape your destiny
That was on a lighter mood anyway, but really, things happen to us in life that makes us to question God, wonder if He is still with us or wonder if we are still in purpose.
"Even when you think you have your life all mapped out, things happen that shape your destiny in ways you might never have imagined." - Deepak Chopra
I have come to realized that destiny can't be changed, but one can be stopped from fulfilling it especially if the carrier loses foresight.
One of the blessing of psychology is the ability to study the way people interprets events. It means your perceptions and paradigm will go along way to determined how you will fulfill your destiny.
My Dad's death is one of my destiny shapers, it thought me many lessons about life and I'm where I am today because of how I interpreted the event.
You see, I never thought I would do a masters degree especially because I wasn't passionate about furthering my first degree which was in plant science, therefore I thought I won't be able to do a direct masters program in the area of my choice.
But when my mum who valued education insisted I go for my masters as she was ready to pay for it. I did a research online and discover one of the prestigious universities in Nigeria actually have a course on human resources, Personnel Psychology, where I can directly do my Masters!
During the program, I discover that many years ago some battles had been fought that made it possible for the department to offer that course to people like me.
Looking at the courses I take now, it looks too good to be true. I get to be equipped with knowledge and resources in what I have always had passion for. Trust me, it can only get better.
And true to Oprah's word "a time will come at a moment of destiny, when what you needed will show for you".
In conclusion, I will say relax, "All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose"- Romans 8:28
