Doing Business and Living unusual is doing it the Jesus way

The inspiration to write this post came from a discussion I had with a friend. We were talking about how Rebbecca cooked a delicacy for Jacob in such a way that it tasted like Esau's recipe, the father ate it and did not suspect anything!

Mind you, Rebecca did not cook a wild animal, she cooked a domesticated animal, but she must have added some seasonings or prepared it in a way that made it tasted like a wild meat. Now, here is the gist, one had it natural, one did it artificially, yet the result was the same!

How about the Jacob skin? The mother also covered him with an animal skin, so that his body was hairy, yet the father did not get the trick. Four things counted for the blessing: food, skin feel, body scent and voice. But three was enough! (You can read the story from Genesis 27:1-30).

Why did I take my time to explain this? You see, I have said that all men are creatives, and because of this, we can innovate or recreate what has already been created. This is why your secret shouldn't be something that can be stolen but rather Jesus. Remember even Jesus said you should not make earth your storehouse, but heaven.

"Do not gather and heap up and store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust and worm consume and destroy, and where thieves break through and steal. But gather and heap up and store for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust nor worm consume and destroy, and where thieves do not break through and steal" - Matthew 6:19-20

Unlike the popular claims that Coca Cola recipes is a life long family secret, yet I have taken a particular drink that I would say tasted just like it. Moreover, there are several cheaper Cola drinks to choose from, so I would not say ttheir business success came as a result of their recipes or a winning strategy, it is God.

John 14:6, said Jesus is the way, the truth and the life to the Father. I love to see this 'Jesus the way' not only as the road to God, but also as the method, strategy and procedure to do things. You should not for any day think the secret to your success in life will be about how intelligent or smart you are, yes, those attributes may be useful but make Jesus your secret.

With Jesus, our business is protected, we know from Acts 17:28, that is in Christ that we live, move and have our being. Do you know what that even means? I'll tell you, when it looks like somesome has set himself as your competition, seek God for your next move! Don't allow the circumstances to determine your move, let God determine it.

We are able to shift our focus on God, and not on our competitors. It is therefore very important to make Jesus our business and life secrets. This is how to do business and live unusual. Making Jesus our secret is hiding our life in him (Colossians 3:3), knowing Him and trusting Him for all things.
